Bloat or tympany is a condition commonly observed in ruminants and other animals, generally caused by sudden access to large quantities of indigestible roughages, decomposed or staple food, succulent fodder and loss of rumen-muscle tone due to vagal indigestion leading to non-eructation of gas or formation of stable froth. It can threaten the life of animal, if left unattended. Bloat may be either gaseous bloat due to excessive production or non-eructation of free gas formed during digestion or frothy bloat due to production of stable froth in the ruminal contents causing non-eructation of the trapped gas. Froth in rumen contents is caused by the slimes, made up primarily of polysaccharides secreted by rumen bacteria. These slimes increase the viscosity of rumen fluid and subsequently trap small gas bubbles therein, leading to frothy bloat.
TIMPOL swiftly relieves the Tympany and restores the digestive functions.
Gaseous and Frothy Bloat/Tympany, Colic, Impaction.
Cows, Buffaloes and Horses : 80 gms
